▶ FilmThe wait is over! To mark Guinness’s return to the 3Arena after more than 15 years, we revived a ceremonial Guinness barge journey. The historic vessel travelled up the River Liffey from St. James’s Gate, delivering the first barrel to the arena.
▶ FilmAn animation by Eiko Ojala, voiced by Louisa Harland, accompanying the MORE campaign and highlighting Bord na Móna’s continued support of the Midlands. I art-directed and directed the film.
▶ FilmCopper is grand, if you’re stuck in the past! A campaign contrasting fibre broadband with copper, voiced by Siobhán McSweeney of Derry Girls fame, with illustrations by Jacky Sheridan and music by DENIS. Created with Rubberduck productions.
▶ FilmHow do you get people to ‘Squeeze in a Read’? You squeeze in your ad, of course. We slipped five-second spots between other advertisers’ ads on radio and digital audio.
▶ FilmOverwhelming public opinion wanted three new MACE ads with Johnny Sexton. Great to work with him again — and bringing Sheila back was a real joy.
▶ FilmBoots challenged us to extend their brand line ‘Let’s feel good’ to its work with the Irish Cancer Society. We focused on Boots Beauty Advisors using their skills to help people affected by cancer feel happier.
▶ FilmOriginally planned as live action showing people literally squeezing in a read, we pivoted to animation with Tara O’Brien during the pandemic. Denis Kilty composed the campaign music. A Covid success :)
▶ FilmThis was our initial Libraries Ireland film, inviting people to take a closer look at their local library. They really are great ye know :)
▶ FilmLittle did we know that when we made these commercials, the poor deli counter employees would be tormented!
▶ FilmA film highlighting Boots’ pharmacy offering, shot at the height of pandemic restrictions. Getting all the moving parts aligned was a real production challenge.
▶ FilmA Boots film celebrating Irish women and their fabulousness. The campaign’s likability score was in the 80th percentile. The campaign case study is below.
▶ FilmWe started from scratch with FBD’s identity, redesigning everything from the logo to the letterheads. The brief: give the brand greater gravitas. I think we did.
▶ FilmWhen you have to make a film about solar panels that work even in cloud cover, you find the dullest place in the world, of course. It just so happens to be in Mayo.
▶ FilmTo launch TV3’s biggest investment in original programming, we had the actors and the location — but no show yet. How do you publicise that? You make something unforgettable and watchable.
▶ FilmA Cannes-nominated piece. The ISPCC brief was a print ad to help prevent teen suicide. With support from the industry of production and post houses giving their time for free, we created a film instead, aiming to take the message further.
▶ FilmStings for ID Mobile, who sponsored an Aussie classic soap - so the work had to be just as corny :P
▶ FilmThe science of making a rainbow is simple: sun behind you, water in front, and nature takes care of the rest. But you must have sun. It was 2011. After weeks of rain, we needed three consecutive days of sunshine — and got them for the shoot. Holy ghost of Ogilvy, the gods of advertising must have been smiling down! Time well spent. And yes, that is Elvis.
▶ FilmA film launching the all-new TV3. A new dawn, if you will. All one shot in one location - I'm a glutton for punishment!
▶ FilmThe brief was simple: "when people think Ryder Cup, they should think AIB". Something epic was needed. And that it was.
▶ FilmAw, lil fellas. The Bord Gais robots: a reminder that the brand is always there to help.
▶ FilmOne of my first TV ads and still a favourite! I wrote it, pitched it, and they bought it.
▶ FilmIf you're sick, don't take advice from your mates. Seriously.
▶ FilmOne of a series of animations for Glenilen Farm.
▶ FilmTo launch Carton Bros.’ Sicín Sásta chicken brand (Happy Chickens in Irish), we created stories with farmers Paddy & Fitzy about animal welfare, ethical practices and sustainability. The campaign ran across TV and VOD to great acclaim.
▶ FilmCreated entirely remotely during the pandemic, this SIRO campaign explored how life was moving online and the importance of fast, reliable broadband. I’m even in it!
▶ FilmFollow-up ads to the original ‘Sexton Stare’ campaign.
▶ FilmWe used pop-up illustrations to give the RTÉ Guide a new tone of voice for existing and younger readers, with executions that could change week by week.
▶ FilmFord Ireland supported Marymount Hospice in Cork by sponsoring the ‘Light up a life’ event at Christmas. The campaign recorded over 2,000,000 impressions and raised over €334k for Marymount — a 458% increase on the previous year - well that's what the case study says anyway!
▶ FilmA follow-up campaign for FBD.
▶ FilmThe best thing about the above ad was working with Errol from Hot Chocolate for the song. A couple of other wee ones below, sadly Errol-less so not worth talking about :)
▶ FilmOldies but goldies — ads for Wexford Cheese. Always liked these . BTW that's my mouth doing the SFC+X of the popping on of the cows, true story.
▶ FilmSponsorship stings for Prison Break. The poor lad eating the kit kats had to use the 'bucket' after 100 takes - IYKYK.
▶ FilmKinetic-type animations from 2009. Cutting edge back then, I promise!
▶ FilmA commercial for the palliative care facility for children in Ireland.
▶ FilmI always liked these stings for the Movie Show, sponsored by Ford. They were fun to make and have stood the test of time, I think. No? Ok, fine.
▶ FilmIn the first film, young Dawa is turned away by relatives who barely have enough for themselves. When Trócaire step in, her aunt Ama realises she can take her in after all — and the search begins to find Dawa and bring her home.
▶ FilmA brand ad for Ulster Bank. Nuff said.
