Bord na Móna: Heartland

A lovely animation by Eiko Ojala and with the voice of the wonderful Louisa Harland. This piece was made to accompany the MORE campaign and highlights BNM's continued support of the midlands. Art Directed and Directed by my good self.

SIRO Fibre Broadband

If you're a fibre broadband company that is tired of copper broadband companies saying how great they are, wouldn't you ask your agency to tell people how it really is? So that's what we did - copper is grand, if you're stuck in the past! Lovely voice over by Siobhán McSweeney of Derry Girls Sister Michael fame, great illustrations by Jacky Sheridan and wonderful music by DENIS - all lovingly crafted by yours truly and Rubberduck productions.

Libraries Ireland

How do you promote a campaign to get people to Squeeze in a Read? Well, you squeeze in your ad of course. We set about cramming our 5" radios in between other people's ads on the radio and digital audio. All part of a campaign to squeeze our message in wherever and however we could.

MACE 2024

Overwhelming public opinion has forced my hand to make three new MACE Johnny Sexton ads 😂 It was fantastic working with the legend again and bringing back Sheila was a real joy.

HONE ENERGY

When you have to make a film about solar panels that work even in cloud cover -

you find the dullest place in the world of course - it also just so happens to be in Mayo.

BOOTS : Cancer Awareness

Boots put forward a challenge - how can we make a brand proposition "Let's feel good" work in all touch points including their work with The Irish Cancer Society. We focussed on Boots Beauty Advisors offering their skills to those suffering from the effects of cancer - helping them to feel happier.

Libraries Ireland : Ireland Reads

I was Creative Director on some really nice work recently for Libraries Ireland. This film was cobbled together during the pandemic in the most creative of ways. Originally a live action piece of people squeezing (literally) in a read, we pivotted to animation with the very talented Tara O'Brien. Denis Kilty created a unique musical composition for the campaign also. A Covid success :)

Libraries Ireland : The Library's Not For You

I was Creative Director on some really nice work recently for Libraries Ireland. This was the initial film asking people to take a closer look at their local library,

they really are great :)

MACE - Johnny Sexton Stare

Little did we know that when we made these commercials the poor

deli counter employees would be tormented!

BOOTS : Pharmacy

A pandemic piece for Boots highlighting their Pharmacy offering. This was a real challenge. Shot during the height of the restrictions during the pandemic, it was quite an

achievement to get all the moving parts aligned.

BOOTS : Beauty

Boots film celebrating Irish Women and their fabulousness - A campaign that delivered above and beyond in key metrics - especially likability that was in the 80th percentile.

Here's a case study of the success the campaign enjoyed.

TRÓCAIRE : Irish Charity

This is our Trócaire piece for lent 2018. The story of young Dawa, turned away by her relatives who barely have enough to take care of themselves. However, once trócaire intervene suddenly, Ama, here aunt sees that she can now take care of Dawa and the search is underway to find her and bring her 'home'.

FBD : Our Story

This was an interesting project in that we had to start from scratch. FBD insurance had a completely different brand feel when we started working on the account. The task, give us gravitas and let people know that we are serious about giving the best insurance in Ireland. So, we redesigned everything from the logo to the letterheads. Here is the result.

TV3 : Red Rock

It was the launch of the biggest investment in TV3 original programming.

We had the actors, we had the location; we did not have a show yet.  How do

you publicise a show not even the writers are up to speed on?

Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children

A Cannes Lion's nominated piece: The ISPCC approached us to create a print ad that would help prevent teen suicide. Through the amazing generosity of Pull The Trigger and Screenscene, we managed to create a film that would have a much further reach and ultimately help save lives.

ID Mobile

Created in conjunction with 80/20,

these are some fun stings for ID Mobile.

The National Lottery

The science of making a rainbow is simple: The sun behind you, the water in front of you and nature takes care of the rest. But you must have sun.

Now, there are many ways to approach making a film for one of Ireland’s largest clients but promising three consecutive days of blue skies and sun isn’t one of them. Enter the most stressful days of my career.

It was 2011 and we had not seen the sun for weeks, literally; it rained and rained and rained; except for the three days we shot. Holy ghost of Ogilvy, the Gods of advertising must have been smiling down!

Truth be told I don’t know how we got away with it, it honestly could have ended my career. Happy to say that the ad is still running today, six years later.

Time well spent And yes that is Elvis.

TV3 Ireland

A fun film for the launch of the all new TV3. A new dawn if you will.

AIB : Ryder Cup Sponsorship

It was the biggest sporting event Ireland would ever hold and the biggest bank wanted a slice of it (as banks do). The brief was simple, make us look like we are the prime sponsor of the event; when people think Ryder Cup, they should think AIB.

Needless to say something epic was needed. The post was done

at BUF in Paris and the director was Enda McCallion.

BORD GAIS : Here to Help

Aw, lil fellas; the Bord Gais robots a little reminder to the customer that the good people at BGE are always there to help.

TUBS 'n' TILES

One of my first TV ads and still a favourite! It was a solo mission weirdly. I wrote it and pitched it and they bought it! Ha! Sold a shed loads of bathrooms as well :)

IRISH PHARMACY UNION : Advice

If you're sick, don't take advice from your mates. Seriously.

GLENILEN FARM

One of the many fun animations for GF.

SICÍN SÁSTA

Carton Bros. came to us to launch a new brand of chicken, one based on animal welfare, ethical practices and sustainability. We created these stories with the help of farmers Paddy & Fitzy. The wry, educational campaign ran across TV & VOD, bringing Sicín Sásta to the people of Ireland in more ways than one.

SIRO FIBRE BROADBAND

SIRO is Ireland’s newest broadband network. We created a campaign during the pandemic to show the new ways in which we have all been compelled to do life different, with SIRO supporting life as it moves more and more online.

Created completely remotely (I'm even in it!), the campaign demonstrates the importance of fast, reliable broadband in an ever changing world.

MACE

A couple of nice follow ups to the original "Sexton Stare" campaign.

The RTE Guide

The RTÉ Guide has been a beloved staple in Irish homes for over 50 years. We created a campaign bursting with personality designed to give the magazine a fresh, modern tone of voice to appeal to loyal readers while opening it up to a younger audience. Using pop-up illustrations, we brought their pages to life allowing us to change with the magazine week after week.

FORD - Marymount

Ford Ireland reached the hearts of the Cork community through its support for Marymount Hospice in Cork by sponsoring the "Light up a life" event during the Christmas season.

The campaign was a huge success reaching over 2,000, 000 impressions throughout the campaign but more importantly raising over €334k in donations to Marymount – a 458% increase on the previous year.

FBD Insurance

A follow up campaign for FBD

THE National Lottery
